This problems demonstrates TSLOPE's capability to search for the critical seismic coefficient. The problem shows a homogeneous embankment dam; the problem is described by Sarma (Geotechnique, Vol 23, No 3, p. 428, slip surface #5). We have added a phreatic surface to define pore pressures in the dam.

The solution converges to a factor of safety of 1.0 with a seismic coefficient of 0.28. Each of the calculated result sets can be opened to examine the forces acting on each slice.
