TCON Download & Installation Procedures
-
If you do not already have a Java Runtime 2 (version 1.2 or later)
we recommend that you go to the
Javasoft site
and download a Java Runtime 1.2 or later before installing TCON.
NB: There is sometimes a problem with TCON converging for
consolidation problems involving radial drainage (i.e. vertical drains).
This problem is currently being investigated.
The following are some notes on the various versions of Java 2 run-time:
- JRE 1.2.2
- This version is supported by all Windows OS, including
Windows 95. However, the TCON batch file
tcon.bat
requires modification to include the full path to the java executable.
Using a text editor such as Notepad edit tcon.bat
to replace:
java.exe -cp ...
with:
"C:\Program Files\JavaSoft\JRE\1.2\bin\java.exe" -cp ...
- JRE 1.3.1
- This version is supported by all Windows OS, including
Windows 95. The
tcon.bat file does not require modification.
- JRE 1.4.1
- This version is supported by WinNT 4.0 SP5 or later,
Win2000 SP2 or later, Win98, WinME, WinXP. It is not supported by Win95.
The
tcon.bat file does not require modification.
-
The TCON application and auxiliary files will be installed in the directory you select.
(by default "C:\Program Files\TAGAsoft\TCON").
