History

TAGAsoft was founded in 1981 in Berkeley, California by Dr Robert Pyke a geotechnical engineering consultant. In response to demands from clients he developed a suite a geotechnical engineering applications. Over the years, TAGAsoft has added additional programs to the suite.

The name TAGA is short for Telegraph Avenue Geotechnical Associates. Telegraph Avenue, one of the main streets in Berkeley, was the location of the first TAGAsoft office.

TAGAsoft is the trading name for TAGA Engineering Software Ltd.

Management Team

Dr Robert Pyke has worked in the geotechnical engineering industry for over 30 years. He was responsible for the development and support of the original software.

Dr Ian Brown, a geological engineering consultant based in Wellington, New Zealand has assumed responsibility for further development of the TAGAsoft program library with a view to providing the premier suite of integrated programs for managing and presenting subsurface data and conducting both routine and advanced analyses of soil and rock mechanics problems.
